Picasso’s Pricing Perspective

The next time someone bellyaches about your fees, don’t think “price.”

Think Pablo Picasso.

The story is told about how the world-famous painter was approached in a sidewalk café by an adoring fan who begged him to sketch her.

He quickly did so on a napkin, then requested five thousand francs for his work.

“But it took you only three minutes,” the woman said.

“No,” Picasso replied. “ It took me all my life.”

It’s taken you all your life to get to the point where you are now as an interior  design professional.

Attach a value to that experience,  and charge accordingly
