January Letter: Tell ‘em What’s Terrific About 2018

Happy 2018!

Think of January as “Show and Tell” Time.

It’s a time to check in with those you seek to influence and tell them what’s new with you in the new year. Talk about your expanded services, perhaps, or your new product lines or your new showroom.

And it’s a good time to give them a new Call to Action:  sign up for our new design consultation program, watch our new video, visit our new Houzz site, check out our revised portfolio, etc.

You can accomplish all this and more in a personal letter to current, past and prospective clients, and to others you need to connect with.

Many interior design professionals use this letter to announce a rate increase.

Their new pricing plans don’t appear until the final paragraph of these letters. Prior to that, the focus is on how clients will benefit from the changes planned for 2018.

Examples:  In the coming year, we’ll

+ teach local interior design classes, to educate you about what’s hot and what’s not in the industry today

+ reach out to new vendors, so that you’ll have access to more product lines

+ launch a new blog, to educate you about trends, design do’s and don’t’s, and what’s hot and what’s not

+ expand our commercial design services, so you can hire us to redo your offices and waiting rooms.

+ add staging, to help you get the most money in the quickest amount of time when you’re ready to sell

+ hire a designer and administrative assistant, to enhance our  service to you.

+ introduce a new referral program, enabling you to win cash and gifts for sending clients our way

Whether you use the January letter to raise rates or simply reach out, it’s a good way to get on the radar screen of those you need to know, and who need to know you.
