June 13 Neocon Program: a Preview

Next time you think about shelling out megabucks for advertising in some slick shelter magazine, think again.

Think, instead, of low cost, no cost strategies with which you can make a maximum impact for a minimal investment of money.

I’ll cover those strategies in my “Big Splash, Little Cash” presentation scheduled for 11 a.m. – noon on  Wed., June 13 at Neocon in Chicago.

The pre-registration deadline is June 4 for the program, which is entitled “Market Smart: Make a Big Splash for Little Cash.”   For more information, visit http://www.neocon.com/education/seminars/seminar-descriptions/, and select session code W319.

Meanwhile, here’s a sneak peak at 10 of the strategies I’ll cover in my Neocon presentation:

1/ Create a Killer Commercial.  Including your ONLY (“We’re the area’s only interior design firm which …”) adds magic to your marketing message.

2/ Write On.  News releases and articles get you quoted and promoted in the media. That’s free publicity, the best advertising you can’t buy.

3 / Speak Up.  Public speaking creates credibility, establishes expertise and connects you with promising prospects.  Seminars, workshops and classes work wonders.

4/ Add “Wow!” to Your Website. Make it timely, topical and interactive, and blow ‘em away with your bios. Getting your site right will boost your bottom line.

5/ Make Your “Net” Work.  Face to face first. Social sites second. Reach out and touch, get and stay connected, and you’ll turn contacts into contracts.

6/ Partner in Your Promotion.  Why go it alone in your marketing?  Buddy up with vendors, suppliers, and others with deeper databases–and pockets –than yours.

7/   Build Your Base.  There are diamonds in your database.  Build yours by offering a free tip sheet or report in return for contact information.

8/ Tell All.  Talk up ALL your design services and products, all the time. There’s no better way to “upsell” your clients, and outsell your competitors.

9/ Sell Yourself .– The most important sale you’ll ever make is the Personal one. Present yourself with polish and you’ll get the recognition and rewards you deserve.

10/ Make a Plan, Stan.Pick Priorities and select strategies. Blogs, ezines and email marketing are among many ways to promote your services effectively and economically.
