A Design for Living — as Sarah Sees It
Sarah Richardson keeps it simple.
That was my takeaway from her presentation at a recent design industry conference at which I also spoke.
Sarah, the host and co-producer of “Sarah’s House” and “Design Inc” on HGTV, offered some insights on her philosophy about interior design, and life.
Here are some of them:
+ Trust yourself and your instincts.
+ Always experiment.
+ Know your look.
+ At the end of the day, be proud of your work and move on.
+ Live in color, and have fun.
+ Choose a direction, and build on it.
+ Don’t take yourself too seriously. Add whimsy and fun to your life, and your work.
+ Go outside your comfort zone. You might like it.
+ Practical makes perfect. Shop at Home Depot and Lowe’s, when you need to.
+ If you can imagine it, you can do it.
