Manhattan Memories

I couldn’t help recalling this weekend my presentation at the D&D building in New York to an interior design group on how to set and get higher fees.

I was on crutches that day, the result of a Colorado mountain climbing accident. Weeks earlier I had fallen 30 feet off the top of Long’s Peak.

Fifteen minutes into the presentation we were interrupted by the frightening sound outside of sirens and sight of smoke.

I never did finish that program, but it took me eight days to get out of New York.

The date was September 11, 2001.
